About Tim Cutler

Though not a cricketer in the traditional sense, Tim Cutler has become one of the most influential voices in the Vanuatu cricket ecosystem. As CEO of the Vanuatu Cricket Association, he has helped transform the island nation’s cricket scene into a thriving associate program that punches far above its weight. Originally from Australia, Tim's professional roots are in broadcasting and operations, but his heart has always belonged to cricket. He first rose to prominence in the global cricket community as the CEO of Cricket Hong Kong, where he helped revamp the national T20 Blitz and elevate the global visibility of Associate cricket. Under his leadership, Hong Kong’s cricketing stature grew, and Cutler quickly became a respected voice advocating for the growth of the game beyond traditional powerhouses. After his stint in Hong Kong, Tim took a bold step by moving to Vanuatu—an archipelago better known for its beaches than its bouncers. But what the country lacked in infrastructure, it made up for in raw passion and community spirit. Cutler saw potential and decided to help build something from the grassroots up. Since becoming CEO of the Vanuatu Cricket Association, Tim has overseen significant growth in development programs, women’s cricket, and competitive opportunities for men’s and junior sides. He’s driven partnerships, secured sponsorships, and ensured the national team gets opportunities to compete globally, including in ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers. He also led efforts in building domestic structures and bringing in foreign expertise to develop coaching and player pathways. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vanuatu was one of the few countries where live cricket was played, and Tim Cutler capitalized on that window of attention. The "Vanuatu T10 Blast" broadcast brought global eyes to a tiny Pacific island and shone a light on the potential of associate cricket—something Tim has long championed. More than an administrator, Cutler is a believer in the democratization of the game. He’s active on social media, regularly engaging with fans, sharing insights, and advocating for more equitable funding and scheduling for associate nations. Tim Cutler’s story is not about runs or wickets—but impact. In every sense, he’s become a guardian and a visionary for Vanuatu cricket, helping the nation dream bigger, compete harder, and reach farther than ever before.
